Types of Treatment We Provide

Remedial massage is a highly effective, hands-on therapy that uses targeted pressure to address tight muscles, fascia and soft tissues. By improving circulation and reducing muscle tension, massage can help relieve soreness, support recovery and improve overall mobility. Treatment pressure and techniques are always tailored to you. Whether you’re looking for light relaxation massage, deep tissue massage for DOMS and muscle tightness, or regular remedial massage and soft tissue therapy to support ongoing movement and wellbeing, our therapists adapt each session to suit your body and goals.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a targeted, evidence-informed treatment used to address myofascial trigger points, muscle tightness and musculoskeletal pain. Using fine, sterile acupuncture-style needles, intramuscular dry needling is applied directly to affected muscle tissue to help reduce pain, improve circulation, normalise muscle tone and restore efficient movement patterns. Dry needling may assist with neck and back pain, sports injuries, overuse and load-related conditions, repetitive strain injuries, and ongoing myofascial pain associated with posture, training or prolonged sitting. Trigger point dry needling is commonly combined with manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation and movement advice to support recovery, improve muscle function and reduce the risk of pain recurrence. Treatment is always tailored to your comfort level, goals and clinical presentation

Osteopathic treatment at Flinders Health and Wellness Clinic focuses on identifying and addressing joint dysfunction, soft tissue restriction and movement impairment that may be contributing to pain or reduced function. Our osteopaths use a range of hands-on techniques to assess how the spine, joints and surrounding tissues are moving, and how these areas interact with the rest of the body. Treatment may involve joint mobilisation, articulation techniques, gentle spinal or peripheral manipulation, muscle energy techniques, and targeted soft tissue approaches to help restore joint movement, reduce stiffness and improve overall mobility. These techniques are selected based on your presentation, comfort level and clinical findings. Osteopathic care also considers how posture, movement habits, workload and previous injury influence your symptoms. Where appropriate, treatment is supported with advice around movement modification, postural strategies, and activity management to help reduce strain on affected areas and support longer-term improvement.

Strength and Rehab

Exercise rehabilitation at Flinders Health and Wellness Clinic focuses on restoring movement capacity, load tolerance and functional strength following injury, pain or periods of reduced activity. Our approach is centred on helping the body safely adapt to physical demands — whether that’s daily activities, work tasks or sport. Rehabilitation programs are designed using principles of progressive loading, movement retraining and functional exercise prescription. Sessions may target movement control, joint stability, neuromuscular coordination and muscle endurance, depending on your presentation and goals. Programs are tailored to your current ability and progressed over time to support safe return to activity. Rehabilitation may include a combination of clinical Pilates–based exercises, functional strength training, movement pattern retraining, and capacity building using bodyweight, resistance equipment and free weights. Education around activity pacing, return-to-load strategies, and injury risk reduction forms a key part of care, supporting long-term confidence with movement and reduced likelihood of recurrence.

What Happens in a Consult

Tailored Care and Support

01

How to Book an Appointment

Your first step is simply to get in touch. You can book online, contact us by phone or email, or arrange a complimentary discovery call to see whether our clinic is the right fit for your needs.

02

Fill in your Initial Intake Form

Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive an initial health history and intake form. This allows us to learn more about you before your visit and gives you time to consider your responses, helping us make the most of your appointment.

If you’re not comfortable with online forms, that’s absolutely fine. Paper intake forms are available at the clinic — we just ask that you arrive around 10 minutes early to allow time to complete them.

03

We Listen and Take a Thorough History

We find out about what brought you to us, your general health, activity levels and what your goals are from your visit.

04

Assessment and Treatment Plan

During your appointment, we’ll complete a comprehensive assessment that may include reviewing your range of motion, identifying pain-provoking movements, and assessing strength, control and functional capacity. Where appropriate, this may also involve neurological testing, blood pressure measurement, or other condition-specific assessments relevant to your symptoms and health history.

05

Management and Support

We’ll then outline a clear plan to support your recovery. This may include hands-on treatment, and where appropriate, referral to your GP, imaging, or other health professionals if further investigation is needed.
