Ankle and Foot Pain
Foot and ankle pain can develop from sporting activity, running, walking, sudden injury or gradual strain through the joints, ligaments and muscles of the foot and ankle. Many people experience pain around the ankle, heel or arch of the foot, stiffness with movement, or discomfort when walking, running or standing for longer periods.
At Flinders Health and Wellness Clinic, our team assess how your feet, ankles, knees and surrounding muscles are functioning to help work with you on identifying possible contributing factors to your symptoms.
Treatment focuses on improving foot and ankle movement, reducing muscular tension and helping you return to comfortable daily activities. Our goal is helping you understand why symptoms may be occurring and provide you support to manage your pain.
Why People Seek Treatment:
How We Manage:
Treatment is tailored to your sensitivity and the underlying drivers of foot or ankle pain. This may include techniques aimed at improving movement through the ankle joint and surrounding foot structures while reducing tension in supporting muscles.
Care may include dry needling, gentle mobilisation, soft tissue release and practical strategies to help you manage symptoms. Rehabilitation may also involve exercises aimed at improving ankle stability, foot strength and movement control to support recovery.
If symptoms involve skin irritation, infection, significant nail bed concerns or other foot care issues, assessment with a podiatrist may be recommended as they are well placed to provide specialised foot care and management.
Goals for Treatment:
Reducing foot or ankle pain, stiffness or instability
Offers non-medication-based pain management
