Patient Responsibilities: Patients agree to provide accurate health information, disclose relevant medical history, and follow agreed recommendations where appropriate. Clinical outcomes may be influenced by factors outside of practitioner control, including adherence to exercises, lifestyle factors, and external medical conditions. Patients also observe respectful behaviour towards the treating practitioner as well as other occupants at the clinic. 

In the case of third party fundings or compensable schemes, patients may be required to participation outcome measurement, reporting, or progress monitoring where clinically appropriate. Ongoing treatment is subject to clinical justification and practitioner assessment, and services may be modified, paused, or concluded where ongoing treatment is no longer clinically indicated or beneficial.

Scope of practice: The practitioner or provider is entitled to referring your condition for further expert opinion or evaluation if the condition or management falls outside of their scope of care. 

Informed Consent: By attending appointments, you acknowledge that Osteopathic assessment and treatment may involve risks and involve clinical decision making and manual therapy techniques which carry inherent risks and benefits. It is within your risks to withdraw consent at any time. Practitioner will discuss risks of proposed techniques as required. You are always encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification when you are unsure. 

2. AHPRA Compliance
All registered health practitioners at Flinders Health and Wellness Clinic are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and operate in accordance with the National Law and relevant Code of Conduct. We ensure to our best abilities that health content and advertising complies with the AHPRA Advertising Guidelines.
We are committed to ethical practice and accurate, responsible communication. We do not make misleading claims or represent that our services can guarantee particular outcomes. Individual responses to treatment vary, and results depend on a range of personal, physical, and lifestyle factors.

3. Bookings and Appointments
Appointments can be made via our website, phone, or in person. By making an appointment, you agree to:

• Arrive on time or notify us in advance of delays or cancellations

• Respect the time of our practitioners and other patients

We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for missed appointments or late cancellations without reasonable notice.

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services where behaviour of a client or patient is abusive, unsafe, or inappropriate toward staff and other patients. 

4. Fees and Payments
All fees for consultations and treatments will be clearly communicated prior to or during your appointment. Payment is required at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept various forms of payment and may offer private health insurance claiming through HICAPS where applicable.

Please note private health insurance rebates are subject to individual fund rules and eligibility.

Patients are responsible for any gap payments or rejected claims. 

5. Privacy and Confidentiality
We are committed to protecting your privacy. All personal information is collected and managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988  and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as well as the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

We only collect information necessary for your treatment and do not share your information without consent, except where required by law.
